no problems finding possums though

on our way to Mareeba
Mareeba Heritage Museum

Just a Statue at the Museum

Granite Gorge near Mareeba

Wallaby in the Gorge
The Village of Kauri on the way to Tinaroo Dam Falls

Malanda Hotel reputed to be the Largest timber Pub in Australia

back at home for Happy hour and the campfire
Python on side of bank
3-4 metres long
me looking at the python, you can just see the water/dam through the trees,
I climbed down this bank to the dam two days earlier,
, I didn't do it again
Sharon's damper cooked in our new camp oven, bloody beautiful.

me helping put up a wind break around the campfire

Ron Bonadio, the owner carrying the rocks for the new campfire pit

the wind break happened because we mentioned that the breeze and smoke coming through the campfire was annoying
feeding time for the possums in the camp kitchen, a nightly event

tripped and hit my head on a log, didn't spill a drop, they put low voltage lights on the new wall in the campfire area

fishing in the Barron river which borders the camp

I caught a Black Bream, too small to keep but fun catching it,
the other guy caught 2 catfish, good size but threw them back too, a great afternoon was had

platypus kept coming up to tease us

pademelon (small wallaby, very small) feeding just down from our van

curtain fig tree in the rain forest, 5 min walk from our van

camp kitchen and small "critters" feeding area at the back of the photo, walking track into rain forest behind the kitchen

Sadly driving away from this camp, very difficult for us to leave this little paradise of a place on the tablelands, not only a paradise but it was so central to everything you needed to  see around the tablelands, not going to forget this.

Township of  Ravenshoe one of the last towns we saw on the way out of the tablelands,

On our way to Chaters Towers and Hughendon on The Great Dividing Range
