Airlie Beach - Townsville - Tully - El Arish

On Our Way to Airlie Beach

Here we are 2 hours later

Just next door to Hideaway Bay, we didn't see any....Bugger!

Drove past miles and miles of Sugar cane plantations and you drive through a bit of a rain forest and you find places like this!............

Now back to the park....leaving tomorrow for Townsville,
sorry not sure what day or date it is but who cares.

Back to Ingham and the Palm Trees Caravan Park
 
Up the road again tomorrow for another 100ks or so,
Stopping at El Arish for 2 days.

We bought some, they were great

Followed the Tully River up to Tully Gorge looking for  the white water rafters

a bus load of  rafters had been dropped off at the top for their white water raft trip down

unfortunately we missed them and not able to get photos


but the scenery was great

Cane cutters Cottage....would have been the envy of the area in its day
lots of old shacks on the drive to Paronella Park at Mena Creek

Paronella Park... a Spaniards dream, built in extraordinary conditions between 1930 and 35

 
not just a testament to one man but a testament to any one who fulfils a dream
 
El Arish Hotel .not far from Diggers Rest Caravan Park about 20k North of Tully
