Pine Creek/Edith Falls/Timber Creek
Leaving Litchfield for Pine Creek

gotta love the Stuart Hwy.....

......the Jeep loved it

Driving down the Avenue leading to the war Cemetary,
at Adelaide River

feeling emotional

such a beautiful place

words can't describe the feeling

and just around the corner, we found.....

......Charlie the water buffalo at the Adelaide River Inn

A few sights around Pine Creek

not much happens here now except for us tourists visiting

the open cut gold mine. when it ceased operation in 1995 the Pine Creek was diverted to fill it. It took 14 months and 6800 megalitres to fill it.

us having a drink at the Lazy Lizard Tavern, where we were camped for the night

me having a drink at the van while doing this blog.
Nitmiluk National park, going to Edith Falls for the night

KIosk at Edith Falls

Fantastic place to ......

......Spend The day

Sharon having a swim

I wasn't game

I went in anyway, but not as far out as Sharon, but could have stayed there all day, it was bl..dy hot out, had to be out of the water before the freshies (crocs) came to feed at dusk.

relaxing back at camp

stayed here for the night

on our way out of Edith Falls in the morning....
heading West towards Broome and the Kimberley region
some fantastic scenery on the Victoria highway as we get closer to the WA border

note the last one on the list

will be in WA tomorrow

crossing the Victoria River

                                      Victoria River Roadhouse

going to Timber Creek for the night at the caravan park behind the Timber Creek Hotel
 the resident "Freshie"
there he is behind us, just sunbaking
the walkway over the creek where the croc lives
a big boab tree in our park
he is not caged or fenced in, our van is about 50 metres away, no one seemed to worry

The Timber Creek Hotel Caravan Park, lots of shade here. this is our last stop before entering WA

filling up the Timber Creek Hotel, but it wasn't beer in the tanks of this road train.
