Derby / Horizontal Falls

Derby is a pretty and quiet place but full of history and BOAB trees! A great place to visit, it is full of tourists waiting to do the Horizontal Falls Tours which is the major attraction of the area.
We boarded a light seaplane out of Derby in the Kimberley  over the islands of the Buccaneer Archipelago to the Horizontal Falls. Landed on the floating air field at Talbot Bay, boarded the well equipped cruisers (two adjoining ones), numerous thrill rides on the 900HP fast boat "Jet Stream" and of course many passes through the Horizontal waterfalls. A relaxing cruise around the many bays and creeks surrounded by spectacular hills and rock formations was breathtaking. The BBQ Barramundi  lunch on board the cruiser was to die for. What an experience to swim in a cage surrounded by sharks whilst they were being fed....Barramundi of course. Have to mention the staff and guides, the service and attention we received throughout the whole day was second to none
